Can I purchase your resources with elearning credits?top of page

Yes!  If you are using your e learning credits to purchase our resources, please indicate this on the order form at the time of purchase.  All DfES schools are allocated an elearning credit budget to spend on electronic resources.  See your finance officer or budget holder to access these funds.  Don’t let them go to waste!

Why will I not receive a CD-ROM with my purchase? top of page

All of our products are purchased and delivered by download via our website.  This enables us to offer an efficient service with the resource being available to you almost immediately.  As we have taken postage and packaging costs out of the equation, we are able to supply your resources at extremely competitive prices.  We are sure you won’t find such quality products at a similar price – we invite you to compare with other publishers and to let us know if you do!

You can, of course, copy the product onto a CD if you wish to make a back up copy or distribute the resource within your institution.  Please note that Firefly Learning will also store a back up copy for you which can be resent on request.

How can I be sure that your software works on my computer?top of page

Although our products have been tried and tested on the vast majority of computers, networks and platforms, it is advisable if you are in doubt, to download a demo of the product you wish to purchase before buying.

How do I obtain a demo version of your software? top of page

Navigate to the product you wish to try in the Catalogue section then click the download demo link at the end of the page. The demo will then quickly download onto your computer.

How do I install a demo version of your software?top of page

Once the demo has downloaded, click the setup.exe file and follow the instructions to install the demo version on to your computer.  You will be taken through of series of simple steps.

How do I launch demo versions of your products?top of page

Once you have downloaded and installed a demo version, the demo will launch automatically.

There are only a couple of  functioning characters on the International Assistant demo.  Is this normal? top of page

Yes, our demo version only includes a few keys for each language to prevent unauthorised use of our software.

How long will it take to receive my order following payment?top of page

Following your order, you will immediately receive an acknowledgment email followed by a further email containing the product and your unique unlock codes (if you have ordered The International Assistant). You should receive this email within 24 hours.

 

I have a “free” email address.  Am I still able to purchase your products?

YES!  Whilst we prefer all orders to be placed via ShareIt, our secure ordering partner to increase efficiency, we are also able to accept postal orders with a cheque (pounds sterling only) for customers whose email address is not accepted by ShareIt. Please note that this manual order process will result in a delay in you receiving your purchase which will be sent to you via email.  We aim to fulfil all these manual orders within 28 days of receipt.

As your purchase will be sent to you via email on receipt of your payment, it is vital that you write your address clearly.  If, in the unlikely event, you have not heard from us within 28 days, please email us via our contact page to ensure that we have correctly read your email address!

 

How do I unlock a purchased copy of International Assistant?top of page

Download the International Assistant file sent to you and install it on your machine as described above.  When International Assistant launches, right click on the blue Firefly Learning logo found at the top left hand corner. 

You will then be prompted to enter your serial code and registration code. Enter the unique codes that you were emailed with the file.

 

How do I run the setup.exe file when it is inside a .ZIP file? top of page

Double click the .zip file and 'drag' out the set.exe file where you would like it e.g on the desktop. Alternatively open the file and choose 'extract' and then choose a location to 'extract' the file. Then double click the setup.exe file and install the program. By compressing our files using WinZip, download time is minimised.

 

How do I install your products on a network? top of page

Our products can be installed on a multi-user network such as a school intranet as long as a recent version of Flash Player is installed. You can download Flash Player from here.

I have purchased a Family of Schools Licence.  How do I share The International Assistant with our cluster schools? top of page

Simply email your copy to the cluster schools by attaching the file using your email client. If you are unsure how to do this please watch this tutorial:

How to attach files to your e-mail - Microsoft Outlook/Outlook Express is used as an example but most e-mail tools will have a similar layout. (The interactive tutorial may take several seconds to load.)
