Think It! is an innovative suite of software applications developed in Adobe Flash. The package enables teachers to generate exercises to help learners learn across the Key Stages and Curriculum subjects by developing their skills of comprehension, application, analysis, evaluation and meta-cognition. This resource is specifically tailored for the new National Curriculum and underpins both the generic functional skills but mainly focuses on the Personal, learning and thinking-skills. See examples of how to use Think It! for different subjects below. Please click on the title or screen shot of an activity to see a working example. You are welcome to use these examples in your teaching if appropriate.
An overview
Think It! contains four Thinking Skills software applications:
Living GraphLiving Graph allows the user to input a series of events which can be placed on the graph in chronological order to take into account the factors (determined by the user) on the Y axis. To explore Think It! examples for other subjects please click here...
Note-ItNote It! allows the user to create a bank of notes, ideas or concepts that can be colour coded for categorisation, sequencing or used as a mapping tool.To explore Think It! examples for other subjects please click here...
Venn DiagramAn old favourite! The user determines the nature of each of the three circles (a double venn diagram is also inlcuded in the product) and is able to create text boxes which must then be categorised within the diagram. JigsawJigsaw allows the user to create interlocking jigsaw pieces which can then be ordered by learners to recount a story or to link ideas and concepts. To explore Think It! examples for other subjects please click here...
Each application can be used to create and save pre-made exercises for use on the interactive whiteboard, across a network, on a website or for learners to use to enhance and record their learning.
On installation, Think It! creates a folder called “My Think It!” files where the user can save all exercises created within Think It!
